The protagonist of the book, August Cep, stumbles upon the mysterious Idlerville while picking mushrooms in a Lithuanian forest; it is a small town where every street leads straight to eating districts, where a day lasts a whole year, Monday is called Cakeday and brushing your teeth after a meal is strictly forbidden. After ten years of eating, drinking and generally loafing around, Mr Cep finally comes home to tell all about his adventures to the little idlers – children who dream of the magic land of idleness.

The artist Kęstutis Kasparavičius won the 2010 Jānis Baltvilks Prize and was nominated for the International Hans Christian Andersen Award.
